You should visit this page after every session you work on a case where you have made an entry in the Realised Value of the system..
It is where you reconcile what the Estate Accounts say you should have in your Client Account with what you've actually got.
First get the figure from your accounts system of the total in Client Account and type it into the "Total that is in Client" Account Box.
The system will display the difference between what it thinks you should have in the client account and what you say you have. If it is zero, congratulate yourself heartily and give your self a big treat when you get home because this case is going to be very profitable for you.
If there is a difference you need to reconcile the figures. The system has an Artificial Intelligence algorithm called 'TED' (Try & Explain the Difference) that will search every entry that you have made. TED will try and find a combination of numbers that might equal the difference. (A bit like the numbers round in the TV show Countdown). If there is just one number it will be displayed but if you press the SEARCH FOR MORE COMBINATIONS button TED will combine more numbers to try and get you the answer.
Once you have reconciled the account so the difference is zero, type the date in the box.
The system will display all the changes that have been made to it since the last reconciliation. You can then cross check the entries that have been made in the system with the entries that are on your Client Account ledger report.
